- Place the spool of thread on the spool pin.

- Follow the numbered threading path down the front of the machine, around the tension discs, and up to the take-up lever.
- Thread the take-up lever from right to left.
- Continue guiding the thread down to the needle bar thread guide.
- Use the built-in needle threader (refer to Figure 6) or manually thread the needle from front to back.
- Pull about 6 inches of thread through the needle eye.

Kusankha Stitch
Turn the stitch selector dial to choose one of the 23 available stitches. Refer to the stitch chart on the machine for visual guidance. Adjust the stitch length and width dials as needed for your chosen stitch and fabric type.

Basic Sewing

- Turn the handwheel towards you to lower the needle into the fabric at the starting point.
- Press the foot controller gently to begin sewing. Increase pressure for faster sewing.
- To reverse stitch (backtack), press and hold the reverse lever/button.
- When finished, raise the needle to its highest position, lift the presser foot, and pull the fabric away.
- Cut the threads using the thread cutter on the machine.

Automatic One-Step Buttonhole
- Attach the automatic buttonhole foot R.
- Place a button in the buttonhole foot's holder to measure the size.
- Select the buttonhole stitch pattern on the stitch selector dial.
- Pull down the buttonhole lever.
- Begin sewing. The machine will automatically sew the buttonhole to the correct size.
Free-Arm Sewing
To convert the machine to free-arm sewing, simply slide off the accessory storage box. This exposes the narrow free arm, ideal for sewing cuffs, sleeves, and other small, circular items.
