- Use only the specified battery type (4 AA alkaline batteries). Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

4. Kukhazikitsa ndi Kuyika
The Weiser SmartCode Keypad Electronic Deadbolt is designed for easy installation. For detailed, interactive 3D instructions with voice and video guidance, it is recommended to use the free BILT app.

This deadbolt is compatible with standard doors measuring 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" (35mm to 44mm) thick. It features an adjustable backset for both 2-3/8" (60mm) and 2-3/4" (70mm) settings. It is suitable for most exterior and interior residential doors.

- Konzani Khomo: Ensure your door is properly prepped with the correct bore holes and backset.
- Ikani Latch: Insert the adjustable latch into the door edge and secure it with screws. Adjust the backset if necessary.
- Ikani Keypad Yakunja: Route the cable from the exterior keypad through the door and position the keypad on the exterior side.
- Ikani Mounting Plate: Secure the interior mounting plate to the door, connecting it to the exterior keypad.
- Ikani Interior Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior keypad to the interior assembly. Mount the interior assembly onto the mounting plate and secure it.
- Sakani Mabatire: Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries into the interior assembly.
- Chitani Njira Yoperekera Chitseko: This step is crucial for the lock to learn the orientation of your door. Follow the specific instructions in the BILT app or the included quick start guide.

5. Malangizo Ogwiritsira Ntchito
5.1 Kutseka Chitseko
- Kutseka Kumodzi: Press the Lock button (padlock icon) on the keypad. The deadbolt will extend, securing the door.
- Zotseka Pamodzi: The lock can be programmed to automatically re-lock after a set period (e.g., 30 seconds) after unlocking. Refer to the programming section for details on enabling/disabling this feature.

5.2 Kutsegula Chitseko
- Kugwiritsa Ntchito Code: Enter your personalized 4-8 digit user code on the keypad. The deadbolt will retract, unlocking the door.
- Kugwiritsa Ntchito Kiyi: Insert the physical key into the keyway and turn to unlock.

5.3 Keypad Features
- Kiyibodi Yowunikira Mmbuyo: The keypad illuminates for increased visibility in low-light conditions and remains lit for 30 seconds after inactivity.

5.4 Makhodi Ogwiritsa Ntchito Mapulogalamu
The lock supports up to 50 unique user access codes and one master code. The master code is used for programming and managing user codes.

5.5 SmartKey Re-Key Technology
SmartKey Security allows you to re-key your lock yourself in seconds, providing flexibility and control over your keys. This is useful in situations such as moving to a new home, losing keys, or managing multiple doors with a single key.

- Insert the SmartKey tool fully into the SmartKey hole.
- Remove the SmartKey tool.

- Remove the new key. The lock is now re-keyed to the new key.

The deadbolt operates on 4 AA alkaline batteries. When the batteries are low, the lock will provide an audible and/or visual low battery warning. Replace all four batteries simultaneously with new, high-quality alkaline batteries.

6.2 Kuyeretsa
