5.1. Kuyatsa
The APLOS Personal Alert Pager is battery-powered. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted. The device is designed for immediate use upon activation.
5.2. Kuvala Transmitter
The alert button (transmitter) is designed for portability and accessibility.
- Neck Lanyard: Attach the provided lanyard to the alert button and wear it around your neck for easy access.
- Mthumba: Its compact size allows it to be carried discreetly in a pocket.

5.3. Carrying the Pager (Receiver)
The pager can be carried by the caregiver or person needing to receive alerts.
- Belt Clip: Use the integrated belt clip on the back of the pager to attach it securely to a belt or waistband.
- Mthumba: The pager can also be placed in a pocket.

6.1. Sending an Alert
To send an alert, simply press the orange "SOS" button on the alert transmitter.

6.2. Receiving an Alert
Upon receiving an alert signal from the transmitter, the pager will activate its triple alert functions:
- Alamu Omveka: A distinct sound will be emitted from the pager's speaker.
- Kugwedezeka: The pager will vibrate to provide a tactile alert.
- Chizindikiro: A red light on the pager will illuminate.
The pager offers customization options for the alert experience, including adjustable ringtone type and volume. Refer to Section 6.3 for details.
6.3. Customizing Alert Settings
The pager features dedicated buttons on its back for adjusting settings.
