Welcome to the HTC VIVE Focus 3 Business Virtual Reality Headset. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your device. The VIVE Focus 3 is an all-in-one VR system designed for business applications, offering high-resolution graphics, ergonomic comfort, and advanced tracking capabilities without the need for a tethered PC, base stations, or external sensors.

Upon unboxing your HTC VIVE Focus 3, verify that all components are present:

  • VIVE Focus 3 Headset

3. Kukhazikitsa

The VIVE Focus 3 features a swappable battery located at the rear of the headset.

  1. Hold the headset and gently remove the magnetic back pad.

3.2. Charging the Headset and Controllers

Ensure both the headset and controllers are fully charged before first use.

  1. Chomverera m'makutu: Plug the AC adapter into the headset's charging port, then connect it to a wall socket. The charging indicator lights will illuminate.
  2. Owongolera: Connect the controllers to the side of the headset using the provided USB splitter cable. Turn on the headset to initiate charging for the controllers.

3.3. Kuyatsa

To power on the headset, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. The indicator light will change to show it's active.

3.4. VIVE Manager App

Install the VIVE Manager app on your smartphone from your device's app store. This app will guide you through pairing your controllers and setting up Wi-Fi connectivity for your headset.

Properly wearing the headset ensures comfort and optimal visual experience.

  1. Release the velcro strap and press and hold the quick adjustment button to extend the headset band to its full length.
  2. Slide the headset over your head.
  3. Turn the adjustment knob at the back to tighten the headset until it feels snug and secure.
  4. Redo the headset strap velcro to further secure the fit.

5. Adjusting Interpupillary Distance (IPD)

The IPD (inter-pupillary distance) is the distance between the centers of your eye pupils. Correct IPD adjustment is crucial for clear visuals and comfort.

  1. While wearing the headset, ensure the lenses rest directly over your eyes.
  2. Adjust the IPD by turning the dial on the headset until text and lines within the VR environment appear clear and sharp. The VIVE Focus 3 offers an ultra-wide range of IPD adjustments (57mm-72mm).

6. Setting Up Your Play Area

For a safe and immersive VR experience, prepare your physical space.

  1. Clear Your Space: Ensure your play area is clear of all objects, pets, and people to prevent accidents.
  2. Minimum Space: For room-scale VR, a minimum area of 1.5 m x 1.5 m (approximately 5 ft x 5 ft) is required.
  3. Set Floor Height: While holding the controllers, push down on the floor boundary within the VR environment to set the correct floor height.
  4. Draw Boundary: For room-scale play areas, use a controller to draw the virtual boundary that matches your physical space. Adjust any virtual objects as necessary to reflect your real-world environment.

7. Operating Your VIVE Focus 3

The VIVE Focus 3 is designed for intuitive operation. Use the VIVE Manager app for initial setup and ongoing management. The controllers provide precise interaction within the VR environment.

7.1. VIVE Business Streaming

Extend the capabilities of your VIVE Focus 3 by connecting to a PC for more complex scenes and visual-intensive applications. This requires a Wi-Fi 5 or 6 ready PC with an Ethernet connection to a Wi-Fi AP, or a VIVE USB Cable (sold separately). It supports major PC-VR content platforms like VIVEPORT and SteamVR.
