  4. Document Wiring: Before disconnecting any wires, carefully note the position and color of each wire connected to the existing ignition switch. Taking a photograph is highly recommended.

  6. Chotsani Old Switch: Unscrew or unclip the retaining nut/mechanism holding the old ignition switch in place and remove it from the dashboard.
  7. Compare Switches: Place the new SECURA ignition switch next to the old one. Verify that the physical dimensions, key slot, and especially the number and arrangement of the 6 poles on the back are identical. Refer to the image below for the pole configuration.

  8. Ikani Kusintha Kwatsopano: Insert the new SECURA ignition switch into the dashboard opening and secure it with the retaining nut/mechanism.
  9. Lumikizaninso Mawaya: Using your documented notes or photograph, carefully connect each wire to the corresponding terminal on the new ignition switch. Ensure connections are secure and tight.
  10. Lumikizaninso Batri: Lumikizaninso batire ya positive (+) poyamba, kenako batire ya negative (-).

  • YOYAMBA Udindo: From the RUN position, continue turning the key clockwise to the START position. This engages the starter motor to crank the engine. Release the key once the engine starts; it will spring back to the RUN position.

The SECURA ignition switch is designed for durability and typically requires minimal maintenance. However, consider the following:

  • Khalani Oyera: Periodically wipe the exterior of the switch and key slot to prevent dirt and debris buildup.
  • Onani Malumikizidwe: If you experience intermittent electrical issues, inspect the wiring connections at the back of the switch to ensure they remain secure and free from corrosion.
  • Chisamaliro Chofunika: Avoid using excessive force when inserting or turning the key. Do not use damaged or bent keys.

  • Engine Does Not Crank:
    • Check battery connections and charge level.
    • Ensure all safety interlocks (e.g., seat switch, PTO disengaged, brake engaged) are correctly activated.
