It includes a large LCD display for easy monitoring, a battery backup, and a manual override feature. No neutral wire is required for installation.

Initial Programming and Time Setting

Before setting schedules, the timer needs to be reset and the current time and date configured. The video below demonstrates this process.

  1. Kukhazikitsanso Nthawi: Open the door covering the buttons. Press and hold the ON/OFF button. While holding ON/OFF, use a paper clip to press the recessed RESET button for 3 seconds. Release RESET, then continue holding ON/OFF for an additional 3 seconds. The display will reset to 12:00.
  2. Entering Setup: Press the MODE button until "SETUP" appears on the display.
  3. Setting Current Time (Hour and Minutes): Press the ON/OFF button to enter the setup menu. The hour will flash. Use the + or - keys to set the current hour. Press ON/OFF to move to minutes. Use the + or - keys to set the current minutes.
  4. Setting Current Date (Year, Month, Day): Press ON/OFF to move to the year. Use the + or - keys to set the current year. Press ON/OFF to move to the month. Use the + or - keys to set the current month. Press ON/OFF to move to the day. Use the + or - keys to set the current day. The display will then show the correct day of the week (e.g., THU for Thursday). If the day is incorrect, re-enter the year and month.
  5. Kukhazikitsa Nthawi Yopulumutsa Masana (DST): Press ON/OFF. "AUTO DST" will display. If you observe DST, leave it as "AUTO". If not, use the + or - keys to select "MANUAL".
  6. Exiting Setup: Press ON/OFF to save the DST setting. The display will show "CENT" (for Central Time Zone, which is not relevant for fixed schedules). Press MODE to exit setup and return to the current time display.

Programming ON/OFF Events (Fixed Schedule)

The ST01A allows for up to 6 ON/OFF settings per 7-day period (12 events total). This section details how to program fixed ON/OFF times.

  2. Program ON Event (Event 01):
    • Press ON/OFF. "01" will flash, indicating the first event.
    • Press ON/OFF again. "ON" will flash, confirming you are setting an ON event.
    • Press ON/OFF. "DUSK" will flash. Use the + or - keys until a specific time (e.g., 12:00) flashes.
    • Press ON/OFF. The hour will flash. Use the + or - keys to set the desired ON hour.
    • Press ON/OFF. The minutes will flash. Use the + or - keys to set the desired ON minutes.
    • Press ON/OFF. "ALL" will flash. This means the ON event will apply to all days of the week. You can use + or - to select specific days if needed.
    • Press ON/OFF to save the ON event. "01" will flash again.
  3. Program OFF Event (Event 02):
    • Gwiritsani ntchito + key to advance to "02".
    • Press ON/OFF. "OFF" will flash, confirming you are setting an OFF event.
    • Press ON/OFF. "DAWN" will flash. Use the + or - keys until a specific time (e.g., 12:00) flashes.
    • Press ON/OFF. The hour will flash. Use the + or - keys to set the desired OFF hour.
    • Press ON/OFF. The minutes will flash. Use the + or - keys to set the desired OFF minutes.
    • Press ON/OFF. "ALL" will flash. This means the OFF event will apply to all days of the week. You can use + or - to select specific days if needed.
    • Press ON/OFF to save the OFF event. "02" will flash again.
  4. Tulukani Pulogalamu: Press the MODE button until "AUTO" is displayed. The timer is now programmed and operating automatically.

Astronomic Feature

The astronomic feature allows the timer to automatically adjust ON/OFF times based on daily sunrise and sunset changes for your geographical location. This feature is enabled by default when setting the date and time correctly. If you prefer fixed times, ensure you select a specific time instead of "DUSK" or "DAWN" during programming.

The timer includes a manual override feature. Pressing the main button on the timer will temporarily switch the connected load ON or OFF, overriding the current program until the next scheduled event.

Optional Random Setting

The timer's electronics are powered by a replaceable Lithium Metal battery, which also provides backup during power outages. The battery typically lasts approximately 2 years. When the battery needs replacement, ensure the power to the timer is turned off at the circuit breaker before opening the unit to access the battery compartment. Replace with a new Lithium Metal battery.
