3. Kukhazikitsa
3.1 Kuyika kwa Battery
The Sharp EL-531WHBK calculator is powered by two LR44 batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:
- Ensure the calculator is turned ZIZIMA.
- Pezani chivundikiro cha chipinda cha batri kumbuyo kwa chowerengera.
- Using a small screwdriver, carefully remove the screw securing the cover.
- Remove the cover and insert the two LR44 batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.

4.1 Basic Arithmetic Operations
Enter numbers using the numeric keypad. Use the +, -, ×,ndi ÷ keys for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, respectively. Press = kuwonetsa zotsatira.
- ExampLe: To calculate 15 + 7: Press 1 5 + 7 =. Result: 22.
4.2 Scientific Functions
The calculator provides a wide array of scientific functions. Many functions require pressing the 2 ndiF key first to access secondary functions printed above the keys.
- Ntchito za Trigonometric: Gwiritsani ntchito tchimo, cos, tani. For inverse functions (sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹), press 2 ndiF then the respective trigonometric key.
- Ntchito za Logarithmic: Gwiritsani ntchito chipika (base 10) and ln (logarithm yachilengedwe).
- Mphamvu ndi Mizu: Gwiritsani ntchito x² for squaring, √ for square root. For other powers (xʸ) or roots (ʸ√x), use the yˣ or ʸ√x ntchito.
- Zigawo: Gwiritsani ntchito a b/c key for fraction input and conversion.
4.3 Memory Functions
The calculator has independent memory (M) and seven variable memories (A-F, X, Y).
- M+: Adds the displayed value to the independent memory.
- M-: Subtracts the displayed value from the independent memory.
- RCL: Recalls the value from memory.
- STO: Stores the displayed value into a variable memory. Press STO then the desired variable key (e.g., A).
4.4 Statistical Calculations
To enter statistical mode, press MODE then select the appropriate statistical mode (e.g., STAT). Input data using the CD ya DATA key. The calculator can perform various statistical calculations, including mean, standard deviation, and regression analysis.
4.5 Angle Unit Modes
The calculator supports three angle unit modes: Degrees (DEG), Radians (RAD), and Gradians (GRAD). Press the DRG key repeatedly to cycle through these modes. The current mode is indicated on the display.

5.1 Kuyeretsa
To clean the calculator, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray directly onto the calculator.
5.2 Kusungirako
When not in use for extended periods, store the calculator in its protective hard case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
5.3 Kusintha kwa Battery
If the display becomes dim or calculations are erratic, it may be time to replace the batteries. Refer to section 3.1 for battery installation instructions. The calculator uses two LR44 batteries.
