You can also register a family member or other trusted person as a guardian at Find My Mobile, allowing them to locate your device, make your phone ring and activate Emergency mode. Default setting is ON.

You must sign up for a Samsung account and enable Google location service to use Find My Mobile.

  • Remote unlock: Allow Samsung to store your PIN, pattern, or password, allowing you to unlock and control your device remotely.
  • Send last location: Allow your device to send its last location to the Find My Mobile server when the remaining battery charge falls below a certain level.
  • Offline finding: Locate your device even if it’s offline, and help others find their devices.

Use the Find My Mobile feature to:

  • Make your phone ring
  • Send you the device’s last location
  • Lock/Unlock your phone
  • Fufutani data
  • Set a screen message
  • Set guardians

Encrypt SD Card

Settings > Biometrics and security > Encrypt SD card

Your device allows for an optional memory card of up to 1TB (not included) that can be used for additional storage. To protect and limit access of the information on the memory card, you can encrypt it so that it can only be read on your device once you enter the password you create.

If you perform a factory data reset, your phone will be unable to read the encrypted memory card. Before initiating a Factory data reset, make sure to decrypt the installed memory card first.

SIM Card Lock

Settings > Biometrics and security > Other security settings > Set up SIM card lock

Your SIM card includes information like your phone number and voice/data plans, which can be compromised if the SIM card is placed into another device. To help protect it, you can create a PIN that will lock access to the SIM card.

Pin windows

Settings > Biometrics and security > Other security settings > Pin windows

Pin windows allows you to pin an app to the screen and block usage of all other functions of the phone including calling, texting, and other frequently used apps. This feature is very helpful if you want to lend your phone to another user, such as a child, so that they can only use the pinned app. For example, if you pin YouTube, it is the only function they will be able to use, and all other functions of your phone are locked.

When you want to return to regular usage mode, hold the Back and Recent Apps buttons at the same time for a few seconds. To unpin an app, you may need the authorized user’s security PIN, pattern, or password.

Woyang'anira chilolezo

Zikhazikiko> Zachinsinsi> Woyang'anira chilolezo

Some apps, like the camera, microphone, or location services, access features of your device when they are running in the background and not just when you are using the app. You can give or deny such access to each app and set your device to notify you when this happens for each category you select.

SOS MESSAGE

Settings > Advanced features > Send SOS messages > On/Off

In an emergency situation, you can quickly make a call or send an SMS text message with your location to a designated contact or list of contacts. You can include a picture from the front or rear camera and/or include a five-second audio recording.

Once this feature is activated, and you have entered at least one contact to the list, simply tap the Power key quickly three times to send the SOS message. Default mode is OFF.

WIFI

Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > On/Off

Wi-Fi is a term used for a wireless network technology that provides wireless high-speed internet and network connections without using the data allocated to your service plan. When Wi-Fi is turned on, your device automatically scans for available networks and displays them. You may be required to enter a password to connect.

Wi-Fi Mwachangu

Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > More (3 dots) > Wi-Fi Direct

This feature uses Wi-Fi capability to share data between Android devices even if they are from different manufacturers. To connect, both devices must have Wi-Fi Direct turned ON, but will not need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network.
